About SPF Canada
The Skin Protection Force (SPF) Canada organization is a dedicated community of university student advocates committed to educating individuals of all ages about sun safety and skin health.
Our Mission
At SPF Canada, our mission is to raise awareness about the importance of sun safety and skin health. We strive to educate people of all ages about the dangers of UV radiation and how to protect themselves from sunburn, premature aging, and skin cancer. We believe that everyone deserves to enjoy the outdoors safely and without fear of harm.
Meet Our Founders
Brett Henderson
Co-Founder & President
Brett is a fourth-year medical student who holds an MBA and BSc from Dalhousie University.
Driven by an unwavering commitment to promoting sun safety, Brett aims to educate individuals in her community and beyond. Her advocacy for skin cancer prevention is fueled by a deep-seated passion for preventative healthcare and enhancing public health outcomes. With her enthusiasm and determination, Brett is dedicated to championing skin health initiatives nationwide.
Delaney Henderson
Co-Founder & Vice President
Delaney obtained BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from Dalhousie University and is currently working as a post-doctoral research fellow.
Delaney is a passionate advocate for health and wellness education. She is dedicated to raising awareness about skin health, and empowering individuals of all ages to have the knowledge they need to understand their bodies so they can be more involved in advocating for their heath.
SPF is powered by an incredible team of university student volunteers and medical student ambassadors from across Canada. Their dedication, passion, and hard work drive our mission forward, and we are deeply grateful for their unwavering support in making SPF a success.
